Time Machine for the Web

by FHKE

World Wide Web technology has been an evolution since it began to gain momentum in the mid 1990’s. Some of the most popular web sites (i.e. Yahoo, Google, Ebay) were just fledgling experiments a bit more than a decade ago. Not much time has passed since dial up was the norm and it was difficult to fathom why we would ever need email.

Using the “Wayback Machine”, it is now possible to take a look at how the web looked during those early years. This tool allows you to type a url, and navigate through the evolution of a site. Take a look back at your alma mature during those college years or visit early versions of some of the sites you surf on a daily basis. This search tool is bound to entertain and have you literally going back for more.
