The Graphic Design Shop is not only committed to a visually pleasing and easily navigated web site design, but we pride ourselves in paying close attention to the detail on the back-end. The back-end or coding of your website can affect both how it is categorized in search engines as well as the ease of which your site can be customized and edited.
Cascading Style Sheets
Our site design is based on CSS (Cascading Style Sheets). This is important to you the customer because CSS is the most efficient language for both page loading times and future editing. CSS is a stylesheet language used to control the presentation of a document. Some advantages of using this technique are control the presentation, document size, and ease of editing.
Web Compliant
Our websites are designed to W3C (World Wide Web Consortium) standards. The importance of this standard is two fold. First, a site that is designed to the W3C standard is more reliable across different browsers. Believe it or not, pages are displayed differently depending on the browser or version of the same browser your viewer is using. Assuring that your site is W3C compliant increases the chances that your site will be displayed in the the way you intended. Think of web compliance as a type of quality control.
Secondly, web compliance addresses accessibility for disabled persons who cannot use a conventional browser. Accessibility is the law in many countries. Validation doesn't guarantee accessibility but should be an important component of exercising "due diligence".
